Sometimes Catholics complain that they do not receive enough guidance regarding Social Justice issues. If we rely only on the public media we will not receive much help.
One helpful resource is the monthly email briefing provided by the Australian Catholic Social Justice Council. It is free and available here....

On Friday 17 October Stand Up Against Poverty at Victoria Square (North Eastern corner), Adelaide commencing at 12.30 pm.
Gather at 12.30 pm for a Group Photograph in the Square, and pledge your support for the global fight against poverty. Stand Up Against Poverty is a worldwide call to take action against poverty and inequality and for the Millennium Development Goals. Participants across the globe will stand up together to symbolise their unity and to show that they refuse to stay silent or seated in the face of poverty.
In 2007, 43.7 million people worldwide participated in Stand Up events (including Over 107,000 Australians), setting a new Guinness World Record for the largest single coordinated movement of people in the history of the Guinness World Record.
The Adelaide event will be proudly hosted by Caritas Australia, Adelaide Catholic Justice and Peace Commission, Catholic Missions, and Catholic Charities. |
