Art Portfolio: Video Acrylics Acrylic paint is by far my favorite media. The quick drying time and ease of corrections allow me to take risks in my pieces. Acrylics also have vivid color that add extra meaning and depth to the art. Whether it be a picture of the Little Mermaid (my favorite Disney character) or a serene beachside landscape the versatility of the medium is apparent. Black & White: What I love about black and white art is the depth of the picture. Unlike color pieces, black and white works cannot depend on color to convey the meaning of the piece. Instead these pieces challenge the viewer to examine the piece closer and evaluate meaning. The high contrast of black and white allows for both moody pieces and playful ones. Clay images High School Lesson: Throughout high school I learned many things. I learned to be an independent thinker and not be swayed by others' opinions. This year, I had the privilege to vote in the presidential election and I spent hours researching the propositions and following both candidates with their speeches and policies. I also learned through participating in various classes and extracurricular activities that art and biology not only come easy to me but interest me. I learned that strong friendships not only bring fun times and memories but are necessary to lean on at times. Lastly, I learned not to procrastinate. Although sometimes my best work has come at 3 am, the peace of mind knowing that your done is priceless. |
