This project is called VERA. It is designed to be a platform for the development of several applications for Amateur Radio. The basic functionality is to combine a Propeller, a GPS, and an EMIC text-to-speech module to provide calculation of distance and bearing to a target for the purpose of automatic antenna positioning in mobile and fixed applications. Source and target positions will be entered using a keyboard and will be based on Maidenhead. GPS data collected for automatic source position will be converted automatically from Latitude and Longitude to Maidenhead. The calculated results (distance, bearing and reverse bearing) will be displayed on a 2 line by 16 character display. The text-to-speech module will be used to read the results back to the user. This is especially helpful while used in mobile applications.

Two expansion serial ports will be used to gather data on the magnetic heading and to control motors in the aiming mechanism.
