THE VICTORY 21 OCEAN RACE for THE JACK DORSEE PERPETUAL TROPHY was
held on
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 2009 by the CONVAIR AND TORREY PINES SAILING
CLUBS
The Race started at about Noon, in the ocean east of Zuniga Jetty and
south of North Island, also known as Coronado Roads (west of Hotel
Del Coronado). The Race was conducted by Bob Coburn, Alex Leondis,
Lisa Brewer and Sanat Kapoor of CSC. The committee boat, Ensign 453,
and course set-up was provided by CSC.
The starting signals were as in the Racing Instructions, including
the five-minute start. The AP flag was lowered at T-6 minutes and
the warning signal (class flag) was raised at T-5 minutes, Etc.
The course was Nr. 2. The compass heading to the weather mark was
indicated as 255 deg (M). Lap one was W-L; Lap two was W-R-R-L and
lap Three was W-L (finish). It was another beautiful and pacific day
on the Ocean. The wind was estimated at about 6 +/- 2 Kts from WSW
+/- 20 Deg. with a gentle swell from the WNW. The temperature was
about 70 to 75 deg. F. The last boat finished at 1420, long before
the 1600 hours limit.

There were no protests.
The Jack Dorsee Perpetual Trophy will be awarded to the winner,
Michael Keane. The winner is asked to engrave his name on the trophy.
