Volunteer Opportunities

Interested in volunteering with TouchNature?

"In a few words I would say that the one week spent in Touchnature was enriching.

The women went about their work with much cheerfulness and dignity even though I think some faced financial and family challenges.

It drives home the point to me that we should be thankful for what we so often take for granted:
a roof over our head, food on the table, and money in the pocket".

- Soo Imm, Touch Nature volunteer, 2009

Volunteering with TouchNature is a meaningful and rewarding experience. You can impart skills so that livelihoods can be sustained, while impacting lives directly.

We are looking for
committed Christians, who are independent, adaptable and flexible, to help us in the following areas:
  • We have a group of up to 20 children who come regularly to our factory for childcare and afterschool care. Ages range from infants to ten year olds.
  • We are looking for someone to supervise a small team of administrators and management workers by
    - teaching and training them
    - supervising correspondence and shipping

    - overseeing accounts to ensure they are clear, accurate and honest
  • We need someone who can provide care for our workers and others in need whom we help. This will primarily be done through home and hospital visits, lending a listening ear to those who need one, and facilitating self-improvement workshops for our staff.

Our social enterprise would not be able to grow from strength to strengt without the help of volunteers. Many of them are very precious to us and we would like to introduce some of them to you:

Wai Jia is one of the volunteers who came to Nepal during her school holiday to help us with one of our sewing projects. With her drawing skills and patience, she helped us design some of the most beautiful products. You can read about her experiences in Nepal in her blog:

Dina and Lena are two girls from Denmark who came to help us in their gap year.

"Being a volunteer in TouchNature has been a great experience. We spent two and a half months at the factory and enjoyed being a part of everyday life there. It has been wonderful to be welcomed in the TouchNature family and we have learned a lot from our time here. A big part of the women have been through a lot and it is impressive to se how they manage to give their children a good upbringing in spite of their many challenges. We’ve been reminded a lot of times of how blessed we are and how easily we can bring joy to others – it doesn’t take much! And we have experienced that when you give, you are really the one being blessed."
