QUBIT - Discovery Channel Science Quiz Show - call for contestants - June 4th taping

Not your ordinary quiz show, Qubit challenges convention by including the odd, unique and truly quirky aspects of the world of science. Three contestants are challenged to answer questions that test their knowledge and nerve in an elimination format, with only the strongest contestant left standing to face off against the Qube for a chance at $10,000!
Are you knowledgeable and fun? Smart and energetic? A natural game player who figures out all the angles?
If you answered, yes, yes, yes, yes and yes, then how would you like to win a whack of cash competing against others on Qubit, airing on Discovery Channel? Come on, you know you want to!
To be a contestant on Qubit you must:
- Agree to the Application Rules and the terms and conditions of the Applicant's Release Form.
- Complete and return the Contestant Application Form.
- Be willing to submit to a written test and a separate videotaped audition in Toronto. (Qubit will not cover travel or accommodation costs.)
- Be available for taping of Qubit in June 2009.

The next University of Toronto Postdoctoral Association Town Hall Meeting will take place on Thursday April 16th, 2009 starting at 3pm. It will be held in the Earth Sciences Centre, Room 1050. During this Town Hall Meeting, we will be holding elections for
next year’s officers and council representatives. If you wish to take
part in next year’s council, or if you wish to nominate another postdoc
for a council role or officer position, please indicate so by sending
an e‐mail to torontopdaelection@gmail.com on or before March 16th, 2009.
More information on the roles and responsibilities can be found in the
UTPDA constitution, available
on http://torontopostdoc.googlepages.com/ We hope to also have a guest
speaker to present on career development for postdoctoral fellows at
this meeting. Refreshments (coffee and timbits) will also be available.
