Here is another page with basic information about me.
| Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in Heaven. Matthew 10:32-33
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20 But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason that you hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear consience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. 1 Peter 3:15-16 If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in His glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels. Luke 9:26
WHAT IS THE GREAT COMMISSION? The great commission is the command given by our Lord that we, His children are to preach His word to every nation. This means every people group, seperated by language, religion, etc. Once every nation has heard the words of our Lord, then Jesus will come back. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR US? We are the children of God. We are each responsible to speak His word. It is harder for some, and I understand this. As a matter of fact, my seven year old is much better at initial contact than I am. He is able to start the conversation anywhere. Just recently, on our weekly bus ride to the library he was involved in a conversation with another patron regarding super heroes. I hid my smile as my guiless seven year old began to warm to the topic. Then out of the blue he asked "the question". Do you know Jesus. When the man said he did not, my son proceeded to explain that Jesus was the one who died on the cross for his sins. You can imagine the man's stunned expression I'm sure. The fact that my son has the basic knowledge to go this far in conversation amazes me. My point is that you need the basics first. HOW DO WE GET THE BASICS? The first step in learning about God is to GO TO THE SOURCE! My hint with the bold lettering here is that we as Christians, should always look to the bible as our first, and main source of information. If you have trouble learning which verses should be memorized, look at some of the links I've put up on the side. The biggest point to remember is that if you have questions, go back and look at the verse in context. Another avenue you might try is to take a course through your church which offers the basics in evangelism. I've taken three such courses through my own church, and I learned something new in each. This is also a great way to fellowship with other believers, and to build the basics of a support group. With said support, you have someone to look to if you are asked a question and do not know the answer. As you grow as a Christian it becomes easier to understand the Word, as well as to speak it. Remember, I'll be praying for you.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears my voice and opens the door I will come in to him.
