BUSHIDO MARTIAL ARTS ACADEMY

B.M.A.A. KNOXVILLE

Kris Sullivan began his martial arts career in Isshinryu Karate Do at the age of 15 in Knoxville, TN  under Master Glen Webb;  since that time he has studied other martial arts including Aikido within the Midwest Aikido   Federation which was headed by the late Master Akira Tohei.

On March 20, 2001 he founded the Bushido Martial Arts Academy (B.M.A.A.) which emphazises pressure point self-defense, joint- locks, grappling (ground fighting), Okinawan and Japanese martial arts weapons.

"Our goal is to be the next step in Isshijnryu Karate Do and that new method is called Isshinryu Karate-Jutsu.  The main difference in our system is in the bunkai (interpertation of techniques) which also includes throws, take-downs  and angles of attack--use uke's (the aggressor's) attack against him, never confront an attacker head on, always move on his weak angles."

More to come...
