Tony Sables - The Chameleon I was born in Melbourne, Australia in the late 50's, I started playing guitar on my dad's old 1936
Dobro and a vintage Japanese Aria electric - through a 1960's
Aussie Goldentone valve amp. I used to play in bands and taught guitar and bass for many years around Melbourne. I began writing songs and recording them on my cheap equipment. I then purchased the first Foxtex mixing desk in Australia (Serial # 1) and a Tascam reel-to-reel 4 track A3440. I decide that wanted to get more involved in recording, so I enrolled in an audio engineering diploma course (I got dux :) ) and then co-designed, built and managed a recording studio in the 80's. I also wrote the music for a couple of musicals for schools. As a big fan of Dr Buzzrad's Original Savannah Band and Kid Creole
and the Coconuts, I started the first Kid Creole fan site - B'Dilli
Bay (originally on Yahoo! Geocities) foolishly trying to list all the recordings made by the Savannah Band, Kid Creole and the Coconuts and related artists. With lots of help from ex-band members and fantastic Creolian fans around the world the list and information got bigger and bigger. What you see is the result of all this work.
