The characteristics of microsystems technology are in the name, because of their small size, microsystems save space and weight. All microsystems have in common the different functions, materials, component,and technology which are interlinked in one system.
MST is bringing together such different basic technology as mechanics , optics, fluids, polymer electronic or new materials.
Furthermore,MST provides the interfaces which are needed to integrate in the products innovative developments in new fields of technology such as nanotechnology.

Objective

• To experience the process of MEMS design, from conception, through creative refining, to realization in its most general form
• To experience the real engineering situation of an assignment without a unique or correct answer, and without complete data with which to start
