Original Songs by Tom Bruce

This site has moved.  Here is the new one.

Download the CDs

Click a track in the sidebar to play that song and see the lyrics.  (On a phone you may need to click on the Downloads link on that page to get a player.)

Or click on the player below to play the entire collection.

This site contains a rough collection of my songs.  You are welcome to download the tracks and covers and burn CDs, or add them to your mp3 library.  Or just stream them from here.  But please don't pay data charges to get this.  Its supposed to be free.  If you want to learn a song and sing it to your cat, or at your local club, go ahead.  Or, whatever ... .  You may pass this marerial along to friends.  If you want to contribute, see the Download page, but that's not necessary.

I don't do music professionally, but I have made some music and songs over the past fifteen years or so.  From time to time, friends used to ask if any recordings were available, and, up until a few years ago, there weren't any.  Now there are, but don't expect studio-quality stuff.  What's here is an archive of “this is kind of how it goes” recordings.  Most were made in my TV room with a pair of Shure 58s, an old computer, and a free copy of Audacity running under Ubuntu Linux (also free).  A few are recordings made at a local club where, sometimes, I was at the other end of the wires, running sound or making recordings of whatever is going on that night.

You will find that some of the words in the recordings differ a bit from the lyric sheets, but that happens.  It can take over a decade for a song to stop wiggling.  Some never do.  And sometimes I just plain forget the words.

I hope to add to this site as better recordings and new material become available so check back from time to time.  There have been several additions and revisions since the site first went live in August, 2011.  The most recent additions (in 2017) are Alternative Facts, Profile and How Long.  And, there is a new 2017 collection (Oh No, Not Again!) on the Download page.

If you have comments, please send them along.
