Chiara Toglia is working as AOCS engineer in Thales Alenia Space Italia.
She received the bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering (2004), the master’s degree in Space Engineering (2006) and the PhD degree in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (2010) from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”.
During her MSc she spent six month at TU Delft as part of the Erasmus Exchange program.
During the PhD she visited for one year the the Field and Space Robotics Laboratory, MIT, doing research on cooperative control of modular assembly in orbit.
She attended the Space Studies Program (SSP09) of the International Space University in 2009 at NASA Ames Research Center, where she was member of the IT group and editor of the Executive Summary for the Team Project on Disaster Risk Management.
After the PhD she started a postdoc at the Department of Informatics and Systemistics of the University of Rome "La Sapienza", working on dynamics and control of autonomous paragliders.
Her research interests concern UAV, Space Robotics and Control, Orbital Multibody Dynamics, Numerical Analysis and Optimization, Astrodynamics, Structures.
