KFJC iPhone app beta

I wrote a very basic iPhone app that streams KFJC's netcast. I would love to get some feedback on it before I release it to the App store

How to join the beta program

If you want to be a beta tester let me know. Here is what you need to do:
  • Make sure you have an iPhone or iPod Touch running 3.0 or later. (Actually I can make you a version that runs on 2.2.1 if you don't want to upgrade for some reason)
  • Make sure you love KFJC
  • Email me the UDID. (To find this, follow the instructions on How to find the UDID.)
To install this app, follow the instructions on How to install the KFJC beta app.

Beta versions of the KFJC app

Version 1.01 (9/14/2010)

This is a very minor change to the released version that I am submitting to the app store. (I added TE to the beta program, so it requires a new profile.)

Testers/devices in the .mobileprovision file:
  • TN (iPhone 4, iPod, iPad), BB, BG, CZ, DN (3GS), DT, EJ, JW, KK, KS, LD, ML, MH, TE
Downloads:
  • Name of app is in upper case
  • Category is "Music"
  • Provisioning profile expires 12/12/2010, but the app should be in the app store by then
  • Actually releases memory
  • Support page at toddnemet.com/kfjc

Version 0.70 (3/28/2010)

This is the fourth beta version released to other people's phones.

Testers/devices in the .mobileprovision file:
  • TN (iPhone), TN (iPod), CZ, DT, BG, JW, DN, KK, KS, ML, BB, EJ
Downloads:
New:
  • Displays track information from the stream metadata
  • Provisioning file still expires on September 25, 2010
Known issues:
  • The app name is still lower case
  • There is no category for the app
  • Sometimes it shows "-" for track information. (This is actually a bug with my stream metadata script, but it shows up here.)
  • Need to get the "official" netcast URLs and hard code them in. Currently using the ones on the web site.
To dos:
  • Double check for memory leaks
  • Add DJ information to metadata and parse it out.

Version 0.61

This is the third beta version released to other people's phones.

Testers/devices in the .mobileprovision file:
  • TN (iPhone), TN (iPod), CZ, DT, BG, JW, DN, KK, KS, ML, BB, EJ
Downloads:
New:
  • Added EJ to the tester list
  • Put the version number in the about web text
  • Provisioning file expires on September 25, 2010

Version 0.6 (11/27/2009)

This is the second beta version released to other people's phones. I've been running it for a months with no problems.

  • Added a black and white start up image to match the app
  • Now under version control, so I'm not afraid to add new features

Version 0.5

This is the first beta version released to other people's phones.

Known issues:
  • Doesn't have a start up image, so it's blank while initializing
  • Name is all lower case, not KFJC

  • Double check for memory leaks
  • Remove phone number from about page
  • Verify that the 32k stream is really mono.
