Bio
Todd
grew up in Andover, Minnesota. As a youngster he worked as a farm hand, played hockey,
and rode his horse in the Anoka County Fair for 4H. (The
horse was named "Chester")
It was during this time that
Todd fell in love with music and discovered that he could emulate
most of his favorite singers like Glen Campbell, John Denver and,
of course, Elvis Presley!
At
age 20, Todd started performing on stage with community and professional
theater in The Music Man, Annie Get Your Gun, South
Pacific, Fiddler on the Roof, Brigadoon, The King and I, and Arsenic
and Old Lace. Todd then began operatic voice training and was
accepted into the Anoka Opera Ensemble where he performed in Carmen,
La Boheme, I Pagliacci, La Traviata, Gianni Schicchi and The Mikado.
He's probably the only
classically trained ETA out there! |
Todd
Anderson started his career as an Elvis Tribute Artist by accident
when he volunteered to appear as "Elvis" for a community
variety show. He was booked for several private performances immediately
after the performance.
He went on to win the LCO Casino Elvis contest
and has been performing professionally for 10 years since then, both as a solo
performer and with back-up band, the DC Drifters. In 2004 Todd had the great idea to have an Elvis Tribute Artist contest and founded the Contest of Kings at the Mall of America. For the past 5 years Todd has served as Master of Ceremonies and Executive Producer. By 2009 the Contest of Kings had reached a new level, becoming so popular that staffing was expanded to include fellow ETA's Art Kistler and Steve Marcio and their wives, Jean and Carol, along with June Anderson.
In 2006 Todd was hired to perform for Cruising with the King, an Elvis Tribute Cruise aboard Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. Todd has performed for "Cruising with the King" every January since then.
