Competitors of
this tournament must be at least eight (8) years old at the time of the
tournament. All persons attending this event must have a completed and signed
event wavier and/or a parental consent form on file. If the person attending is under the age of eighteen
(18) years old, the wavier must be signed by their parent/legal guardian. If
participant is a spectator and under the age of twelve (12) years old they must
have a completed Parental Consent form and wavier on file and be accompanied by
an adult (21 or older) at all times. Parents or Legal Guardians will be required to
sign a consent form for all participants and/or spectators under 18. No representatives
of the Parent or Legal guardian will be accepted.
GAMER TOURNAMENT
RULES
On the day of
the tournament all gaming participants will need to check in one half hour
before your scheduled tournament. If you registered before September 5, you
will need to bring your original receipt for all monies paid. If you are
registering the day of the tournament all monies must be paid at the time of
registration. Before you can sign in for a tournament you must have: all
applicable papers completed, signed and on file. A valid (not expired) State ID,
License, Passport or School Id will be required for admittance on the day of
tournament. Please remember any one 18 years and under must have a signed
consent form on file and any gamer under
12 years old must be supervised by an adult (21 or older) at all times.
Brackets for
each tournament will be created during sign in for each tournament. All
brackets are filled on a first come first served basics. No one will be allowed
to sign in or compete in a tournament after the first round of that tournaments
competition has started. If you are not present for your round you will be
disqualified from the event. So please check all schedules carefully. No
refunds will be given to gamers who arrive late to a tournament. However, if
there is space in another tournament you may register for it at no additional
cost. The only exception is the Grand Prize Tournament. You must have competed in four tournaments to
be eligible.
All Gamers are expected to hold
themselves to good sports man like conduct. Illegal drugs, alcohol, firearms,
knife, swearing/foul language, direct body contact with another person or the
implied intent to cause harm to another person will not be tolerated. The ill-treatment or willful damage of
equipment will not be tolerated. The Mentoring Group and or its representative reserves
the right to refuse permission to attend or remove any individual(s) for any
unsportsmanlike conduct, violation of rules, or any unlawful acts that take
place during the tournament or affect the participation of a person at this
event.
The game
system of choice for this tournament is XBOX 360. You may not bring your own controllers. All controllers will be
provided by tournament organizers. All tournaments will be single
elimination. Halo doubles teams will
play all doubles until a winning team is identified. The best gamer of Madden
09 is not eligible to enter the 2nd chance Madden 09 tournament. The
top six players of Madden 09 (minus the best gamer) are eligible to play in the
Madden 2nd chance tournament for $10.00. There will be two brackets
for this tournament. The top six gamers after the winner will be bracketed
together and the winner will play the winner of the second bracket. All
tournament game play specifics will be provided on the day of, for each
specific gaming choice.
The
Mentoring Group reserves the right to in its sole discretion and without
further notice, suspend or cancel the contest or alter the rules for any reason
due to unforeseeable circumstances or events that cannot be controlled.
POINTS
Each
tournament will be single elimination and points will be earned by the number
of brackets you are in. At the end of the day all points will be tallied for
those who are eligible to win “Over All Best Gamer”.
To win “Best
Gamer” in any given tournament you must enter at least one tournament and be
the top winner in that tournament. To become eligible for the grand prize you
must compete in four tournaments. To win
the “Over all Best Gamer” title and
Grand Prize you must have competed in four tournaments and have the highest
overall points of all qualifying gamers.
AWARDS
The Best Gamer
of each tournament will be announced at the end of each tournament. Actual
prize awards will be awarded at the end of the day and after points have been
tallied to determine 1st and 2nd place for the “Best
Overall Gamer.”
