Home: Tyler | Why is it we are so fascinated by the ocean? Is it because of the continuous change? How the waves constantly change the vista? The continual roar dulls one sense. The smell, brings to mind feelings so visceral. The roaring waves that are loud, yet, are silent at the same time. They say nothing, reveal nothing, the constant waves produce something that is never constant. Our eyes gaze upon something that is virtually unchanged since we've had oceans. The inexorable march of waves upon the sands. It is somewhat like our minds, constantly changing and reacting. Maybe that is why we, who are always busy, can sit still and relax as we gaze upon something more busy than ourselves. We let our minds reflect upon the profound presence of the sea itself. Our minds assume the motion. How can we ever be bored? The waves of our minds may ebb and flow, but never do they cease to know. |
