Jokes are only funny because they all contain a grain or an element of truth in them. All jokes contain irony, the irony of life. The human condition allows us to laugh at our curious state of life. To view our state of life otherwise would be to invite or leave the door wide open, to instigate, or to ensure that the deepest despair ever known grabs hold of one. Jokes are rhetoric for our perceptions. We perceive reality as being restricted to one true state. Reality as being able to only be said one way. For it to have a cohesive meaning which we cannot express nor even begin to comprehend. But our perceptions and reality ridiculously vary. They even contrast. When we laugh, we understand, albeit unconsciously, as we cannot admit that we laugh as to ward of despair, that would invite despair itself and define existence as being very hollow, that we laugh to poke fun at the very curious and intriguing case that life poses.
Anything should be able to make anyone happy. The only inhibition is
whether or not one looks closely enough, or truly understands the value
of something enough, to truly appreciate all that one has. THEN
everyone has an excuse to be always happy. No matter what shit happens. |
