Students and Trainer honored.

Six students and the trainer for Taekwon-Do Central (TC) were honored at the Meinhard Community Sports Award Evening on 16 April.  TC members were recognized for Taekwon-Do championship titles won over the last three years.  Persons from other sports were also honored.  The community mayor presented a certificate and a medal to the individuals.

Best Student 2009, Siyawasch Hosseini

He earned the honor a second year in-a-row.  With the title, he received a trophy, a distinctive patch for his Dobok and a certificate with US President Obama's signature.  Taekwon-Do Central's best student award program seeks not only to recognize individual achievement but also to promote group performance.

Another German Champion

International Open German Taekwon-Do Championship

Adding to Taekwon-Do Central's impressive list of champions, Siyawasch won Gold in Tuls/Forms amidst stiff competition at this championship on 28 November in Herne, Germany.  There were 260 plus competitors.  Ireland, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Czechnia were strongly represented.  Like a man possessed, he was totally concentrated, exacting and powerful.  Having recently turned 14, it was Siyawasch's first competition in the age group of 14 - 17 years old. The only other member to compete, Nadine, earned Bronze in sparring.  It was Nadine's first competition in the seniors category.  Nadine got much hands-on training as a point referee in sparring.  This first German Championship organized by a recently formed organization, under the leadership of Olaf Brämer, 6th Degree, was truly impressive in its organization and the number of competitors it drew.   We will be back in numbers strength next year.

Our champion with proud parents and trainer.
