TKAE Chavurot

Home

The word Chavurah is Hebrew for fellowship. The plural is Chavurot.

The Chavurah is a small group of synagogue members who assemble for the purposes of facilitating Shabbat dinners, Havdalah Services, enjoying holiday meals together, sharing communal experiences such as lifecycle events,
and Jewish learning.  The purpose of the group is not simply to form a social group or to provide a intimate setting for Jewish ritual and learning, rather it is a combination of the two.
Chavurot, can fulfill many spiritual and social needs but in order to best accomplish that we will help place you into groups based on your choice of what general demographic you would most like to affiliate.

When you sign up for a Chavurah you will have the choice to select the age group, life stage or relationship status of your fellow members.  For those of you who have children you may choose to affiliate based on the ages of your children.  We will do the
best we can to place you with a group of people who share common goals and interests.    Of course every group can decide how often they would like to meet.  If you are interested in this program, please sign up on the link located on the navigation bar to the left of your screen.

In Pirkei Avot we are taught, "Find yourself a teacher, acquire for yourself a friend." This is just one of the many ways that Temple Kol Ami Emanu-El is helping you fulfill this important requirement.
