Randall McMullan has worked in manufacturing; education and training for construction, engineering and ICT; and in government policy and practice. Personal knowledge and expertise includes the development and implementation of industry performance standards, qualifications and assessments for various business and technology sectors not normally connected with formal education and training systems.
Extensive research and writing experience has produced many training packages and publications including a leading textbook for Environmental Science in Building.
EXPERIENCE

Technical fluency: qualifications in physics, maths, geophysics and construction, practical experience as working a technologist, author of many technical publications, and learning materials for foundation learning.
Teaching: Long experience as Senior Lecturer in Further Education with part time experience at Higher Education Institutions: Kings College London, University of Westminster, Anglia Ruskin University, University of Auckland, Unitec New Zealand
Standard setting: lead role in the national funding, development and approval of national occupational standards, with a particular experience connected to the workplace roles in:
· Financial services, Information technology, engineering, manufacturing, construction sectors and sub sectors
· Adult literacy and numeracy development and teaching
· Further education, community learning, higher education, work-based learning and other components of the Lifelong Learning sector
Qualifications research and development: lead role in the national
policy, development and accreditation of vocational qualifications for a range
of sectors including those listed above. Practical writing of qualification
specifications and assessment instruments in particular subjects.
Project Management: experience of effective project management and team leadership
needed for all aspects of development work.
Training and Quality Assurance: senior experience of teaching, workplace training in engineering,
construction and IT
Representation: representative of a government body to a range of
national organisations, and speaker at national and international events.
