The setting:

 

Time:

          The time the book took place is in modern times.  This book sounds like it could be taking place right now.  It's just a book about a regular kid from the present (not the past or future). 

 

Places:

     There are three main places that this book takes place:

          The first one is the Kyle Rideau's house.  This is where Kyle, Lauren, their mom, and their dad live.  Sometimes other people come over (like most other people), but these are the main people who live there.

 

          The second is Bert P. Trotts middle school.  This is where Kyle spends most of his time as well as where most of the book takes place because it is where Kyle goes to 7th grade.  It is a middle school with a high school on the other side of the parking lot.

 

          The last one would be the taekwando school that Kyle goes to.  Ths is his safe haven or his getaway place.  Talking is not allowed and you get to take your anger out on other people or the punching/kicking bags.  YOu also get ot think to yourself, unless you don't want to think at all, then you can just focus on what you are doing at that time.  This is Kyle's favorite place.
