A Colloquium: Purposes and Pleasures of Foreign Language Learning

The Modern Language Department at Central Connecticut State University invites you to join colleagues and friends for the Annual Conference for Language Teachers to be held at ITBD, Institute for Technology and Business Development, New Britain, on Saturday, March 13, 2010. 

Last year we have more than 200 Language teachers and administrators attended this conference. This year we expected more to come. The Conference is an important occasion for professional development and stimulating conversation about world languages and cultures. As usual, CEUs are offered to participants and conference registration fee is waived to presenters.

The theme for the conference this year is "A Colloquium: Purposes and Pleasures of Foreign Language Learning." We welcome presentations and workshops from individual, teams of faculty or administrative faculty, organizations, community-based partners and any others who are involved with Language Education.

Presentations and workshops should be of interest to language teachers. Proposals may address theoretical, curricular, methodological or technical aspects related but not limited to the following topics:

. Language needs for different professions
. Promoting world languages in education and beyond
. Innovative approaches in world language teaching
. Cultural diversity and interaction
. Language and pleasure

To propose a presentation or a workshop, please use the attached submission form. Proposals are accepted until January 25th, 2010.
