As a student, I attended Newport Art College, specialising in Embroidery and Lithography and from where I graduated with the National Diploma in Design.I subsequently attended Cardiff University where I was successful in obtaining the ATD(Art Teachers Diploma). Over a period of 20 years,A I taught in various schools, as Head of Art and subsequently, I was responsible for A Level Art and Design at the City of Bath College, specialising in textiles and photography. I also taught cake decorating and was fortunate to have the opportunity to lecture Internationally and produce books and videos on the subject. Since retiring from teaching, I have worked in embroidery and beading and am a member of The Bath Guild of Embroiderers. More recently, I decided to take up painting for pleasure, as I have not had the opportunity to personally explore this medium during my previous career. I joined the Timsbury Art Group in April 2008 and have benefited greatly from the friendly advice and guidance I have received from members.  |
