That Second S is Back--Officially!

 

After nearly 100 years, Smartsville has officially regained its historic name. On 14 August 2008 the United States Board on Geographic Names voted unanimously to restore the middle 's' to Smartsville.

The Smartsville Church Restoration Fund board has begun planning a celebration in honor of the "Return of the S."

This free event will likely be held on a Saturday late afternoon sometime in the next two months, on the Smartsville Catholic Church grounds in Smartsville.
