If you are already exercising regularly and you want to challenge yourself there are many sporting events that you can aim for.  A personal trainer can help you find an appropriate event and train sensibly for it.
 
Alternatively, if you have set yourself a target that now seems ridiculous, a personal trainer may well be able to get you through the event in one piece!
 
 
If you take your sport seriously, train regularly and hard then you don't need a personal trainer for motivation.  What you might need is:
  • an objective viewpoint on your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges;
  • help with appropriate goal setting;
  • an effective training plan;
  • support for key sessions.
