Background
I am from Dallas, Texas. I went to the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science at the University of North Texas. After high school, I went to the University of Texas in Austin and earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
My first trip to Mississippi was when I was moving into the dorm rooms at Ole Miss during the summer of 2005. I taught Geometry and Pre-Algebra for one year at Humphreys County High School and Junior High. This past year, I’ve been at Jim Hill High School teaching Pre-Algebra, Transitions to Algebra, and Algebra I.
Mississippi Teacher Corps
I found out about MTC during the fall of my senior year in college. I was interested for a number of reasons. I liked the idea of the Peace Corps, spending two years to help others, but I didn't want to leave the U.S. I wanted a two year program because I started college early and I figured I had two years that I could use to do something different. I wanted to try something that I probably would never have tried at any other time in my life. I wanted to join MTC for the experience.
