Allan (also known in Hindu circles as Acharya das) is active in the Philippine Hindu community especially with the Chaitanya Mission. He began the practice of yoga at age 14 in the small North Island town of Te Aroha. Just prior to his 20th birthday he moved to India where he studied Vedic philosophy and Sanskrit and later travelled in Asia both teaching and continuing his personal practice in the Vaishnava tradition. The Vaishnava school of Vedic thought and practice is regarded by many to be possibly the most influential amongst the different branches of Hinduism. The particular lineage of teachers he belongs to is known as the Brahma Sampradaya or the Brahma Gaudiya Sampradaya. Read more >>
