MONDAY, AUGUST 3 – Join us
tonight for the third evening in our series of three GET GARDENING
events. SCOTT CALHOUN visits to sign and discuss his volume, DESIGNER
PLANT COMBINATIONS: 105 STUNNING GARDENS USING SIX PLANTS OR FEWER, at 7:00
PM. Put plants together in your own backyard using the best combination ideas
from design professionals across the United States. More than 100 stunning
gardens inspire you to mix and match your favorite plants with confidence.
Spark your garden-design creativity with proven groupings, test-planted and
enjoyed by the experts. It’s easy when every combination uses no more
than six different plants! The exciting ensembles include a variety of
textures, colors, and seasonal displays. You will find chapters devoted to
Perennial Partners, Masses of Grasses, Annual Acquaintances, and Ground Cover
Groupies. There are plants for every preference and colors for every season,
with alternatives for various climates. Choose your favorite and plant it as a
gorgeous focal point in your garden or as a splash of fresh color in a small
space.
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 10 – One of very
favorite authors, LISA TUCKER, visits to sign and discuss her haunting
new novel, THE PROMISED WORLD, at 7:30 PM. Suicide by police,
the inexplicable bond shared between twins, and the mysterious history of one
family are the elements that propel this mesmerizing tale from a masterful
storyteller. This remarkable novel – engrossing and highly suspenseful
– is a new “gothic” read for the modern world. |

Check out our group on Shelfari. This is an interesting resource - could it be useful for our group to keep track of the books we've read? Thunder Hill Book Club on Shelfari |

Mark your calendar for September 26, 2009. It would be fun to spend the night and expand our visit beyond the festival.... what do you think? Any suggestions for hotels?
