I am an Assistant Professor at the Marketing
Department, University
of Groningen (The
Netherlands). I studied business administration and economics at the
University of Frankfurt, Germany and specialized in finance, marketing, and
electronic commerce. I finished my Ph.D. at the Chair of Electronic
Commerce and the E Finance Lab at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University in
Frankfurt/Main. During my PhD, I have been a visiting scholar at IESE Business
School, Barcelona
(Spain), Penn State University, State College (USA), and Goizueta Business School,
Atlanta (USA). In 2004, I was named “ISBM Business Marketing Doctoral
Fellow” and at EMAC 2006, the ‘Best Paper of the Conference based on a Doctoral
Dissertation’ was awarded to me and my co-authors. I have published in
various academic outlets such as Journal
of Marketing, Journal of Service Research, Zeitschrift fuer Betriebswirtschaftlicher Forschung and have been finalist of the 2008 MSI/H. Paul Root Award.
Before joining University
of Groningen, I
was an Assistant Professor at the Marketing Department, VU University Amsterdam
(The Netherlands). Lately, a project together with Koen Pauwels and Joep Arts was one of the four finalist for the 2009/2010 ISMS-MSI Practice Prize Competition. My areas of expertise and interest are in customer management, value-based marketing/marketing performance measurement, customer-based firm valuation, investor relationship management, marketing risk management, and linking marketing and investor relations. Current research projects include the use of market dashboards as decision support systems, marketing effectiveness, the disclosure of critical marketing metrics to the financial community.
