THS NHS

THE POINTS ARE NOW UPDATED FOR BOTH JUNIORS AND SENIORS. CHECK TO SEE HOW MANY MEETINGS YOU HAVE ATTENDED AND HOW MANY SERVICE POINTS YOU STILL NEED TO TURN IN. THE CURRENT TOTALS ARE UNDER THE BOX "END OF 2012." I AM ONCE AGAIN VERY SORRY FOR THE DELAY, BUT THEY ARE ALL READY TO GO.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF THE NEW SOPHOMORE NHS MEMBERS. THE FIRST MEETING WILL BE FEBRUARY 1, 2012.

FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT SIGNED UP FOR SOMETHING ALREADY, PLEASE COMMIT TO WHAT YOU SIGNED UP FOR. THOSE OF YOU THAT DON'T SHOW UP, YOU WILL LOOSE A SERVICE POINT. YOU CAN SEE ANY OF THE OFFICERS FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THE CONSEQUENCES OF NOT COMMITING TO SOMETHING YOU'VE SIGNED UP FOR.

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS WITH YOUR SERVICE OR MEETING POINTS THAT ARE LISTED ON THE NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY WEBSITE,  PLEASE CONTACT THE NHS SECRETARY.

 Sophomores need:
4 meeting points (4 meetings)
6 service points (12 hours of community service)

Juniors need:
9 meeting points (9 meetings)
11 service points (22 hours of community service)

Seniors need:
9 meeting points (9 meetings)
11 service points (22 hours of community service)

These point requirement need to be fulfilled each year.  If you fail to complete these requirements, you will be put onto probation the following year.  Failure to make up the previous year's points by the end of the first semester will result in a removal of NHS membership.  Seniors will not receive their cord if they fail to meet these requirements by the end of the school year.

*It is YOUR job to make sure you are signed in at meetings. This way we can make sure there are no problems recording attendance. Meeting points CAN be made up for with service points, but not vice versa.

Any questions/concerns/ideas can be sent to thorntonhonorsociety@gmail.com. Please do not send your hours.  Give those to me during meetings or turn them into the NHS Board, which is on your right as soon as you walk into the history office. Thanks!
