Thomas Quinn
I like to design and program games.

I'm currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. My resume can be found here. (updated 4/25/09)

Games

Ouranos 0.1 - A turn-based strategy game, with algorithms by Jonathan Leahey. Written in C# using Visual Studio 2008 and Managed DirectX. Features procedurally-generated maps and the beginnings of a diverse and interesting tech tree. I'd like to completely re-work this one, focusing more on capturing and researching wild monsters.

Design Document: a pdf of notes I took during the design process. Includes plenty of stuff that hasn't yet made it into the game, plus sketches and algorithms used in the game engine.

RogueLite 0.9b - A simple roguelike game, with algorithms by Jonathan Leahey. Written in C# using Visual Studio 2008 and XNA, later ported to the SdlDotNet graphics library. (changelog)

Music

Anxious Tedium - Composed using FL Studio 7 and EDIROL Orchestral. It has since been used multiple times on the Gamers with Jobs Conference Call podcast. [1][2][3][4][5][6][7]

The Way Your Journey Ends - Winner of the 2008 Roguelike Soundtrack Competition, composed with FLStudio 7 and various soundfonts. It has also been used on the Gamers with Jobs Conference Call podcast. [1][2][3][4]

GWJCC Christmas Theme - Used as introductory music on the Holiday 2008 and 2009 Gamers with Jobs Conference Calls.

Arpeg - Composed using FL Studio 9 and Steinberg Hypersonic 2. As per usual, it's been used on the Gamers with Jobs Conference Call podcast. [1]

Jungle - Composed using FL Studio 9, Steinberg Hypersonic 2, and an ambient sound library.

3D Work

Glass Head - Modeled in ZBrush 3, materials and rendering in 3ds Max 9.

"Mage" 360 - Modeled and rendered in 3ds Max 9.
