Well, my last name is "Farmer" so here's a picture of me on a farm. Welcome to my research-related homepage ... I've been meaning to make one for three years and have finally gotten around to it. Currently, I'm a researcher at the Cognition and Communication Research Centre in the Department of Psychology at Northumbria University, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK. After completing my undergraduate degree at James Madison University in Psychology, I stayed on to complete a Master's in Psychological Science with a focus on statistical methods and measurement theory. After that, I went to Cornell University to complete my PhD in Psychology. For the last two years of my degree, I got out of Ithaca and moved to Cornell's Medical College in New York City. There, I worked on speech processing research at the Sackler Institute for Developmental Psychobiology. Broadly construed, my research spans a series of topics across the field of cognitive science, although my primary research area is in the domain of on-line language processing, with specific interests in sentence processing and speech sound categorization. You can use the links to the left to learn more about my research interests and research career, and to find links to most of my publications.
