January 8th, 2009 Stated Meeting: District C Visitation & Things that aren't there anymore

Hackenburg-Mt. Moriah Lodge 19 held its first stated meeting of 2009 on January 8th in the Egyptian Hall of the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania.  The Lodge was honored to host the District Deputy Grand MASTER, William Kingsbury, and the officers of Masonic District C.  DDGM Kingsbury spoke about the state of the Grand Lodge and its’ various programs.  He also spoke of the work being done by Hackenburg-Mt. Moriah and that of the other Lodges of District C adding that he was pleased by both.

After the District Deputy Masters’ talk the lodge was presented with a program entitled “Things that aren’t there anymore”.  The presentation was produced and delivered by brother’s Laird Bevitz & Barry Oppenheim.  It featured a multi-media power point display of long gone features of the Philadelphia area.  Included in this nostalgic revisit are major shopping attractions, warmly remembered restaurants, popular TV programs, cars, beers, stadiums and radio commercials from the past.

Here is a very brief sampling of some of the items which were in the presentation.

All of the members and visiting brethren loved the presentation. Here are some pictures from the night.
