Based on our work this semester, we have a few recommendations for the team that takes on this venture next. WishVast is a complex initiative but is a wonderful initiative, and we want to make sure that the venture succeeds!
- Make sure you thoroughly understand the WishVast concept before setting goals and starting to work on your goals! Watch the videos and read through the text and scenarios on this website to make sure everyone involved in the venture is on the same page. Until this happens, much time can be lost, so make sure everyone is on the same page!
- Set clear goals for completion over the course of the semester. Regularly evaluate how you will achieve these goals and what metrics will be necessary to assess them.
- If you would like to travel to Kenya to work on testing and implementation of this venture, apply for grants early and often!
- Select one business model that will be used for this venture when it hits the market. A number of possible options are explained on this website. For WishVast Inc. to effectively move forward as a company, one plan of action will need to be selected and put into motion.
- Purchase a domain name for this website (WishVast.org?) so that information can be made available to the public who have questions about WishVast or would like to purchase the system. This website will also need to be utilized as part of the WishVast Station under some circumstances.
- Come up with additional scenarios and value chains so that there will exist even more potential options when testing is done on the ground.
- Develop skits to be used in Kenya when illustrating these scenarios to families in the region. Due to the cultural context, men may not be willing to allow for women and children to answer direct questions, but when posed after a skit, there is more of a willingness to get this diverse feedback.
- Continue to compete in business plan competitions and continue to apply for grants to help the WishVast venture to succeed.
