If you landed here, you are either a friend or family member, or perhaps someone searching for something deeper and meaningful in life. I do not claim to know all the answers, but simply, am one of many "fingers pointing at the moon."
My name is Brother Adam, a Novice Monk to the Franciscan Missionaries of Divine Compassion, of the Order of Friars Minor [OFM], under the jurisdiction of the Anglican Church in North America. I started this journey in the year 2010 with my friend and spiritual mentor, Father Gregory Mashburn, who is also the minister general of the order. We are a mendicant order, meaning we subsist almost solely on the charity and donations of our community, and others like you. Our mission is to minister to those whom Christ has called us to minister to - the poor, the orphaned, the widowed, the broken hearted, and all other people struggling to get by in this life. We help to provide food, friendship, and minister to those in need, as well as minister to the need of those that have need.
In addition to the above, some of my duties around the monastery include maintaining our order's web page [which... is not finished yet], writing the new prayer book for the FMDC, making our habit rosaries, continuing my own writing for publication, landscaping for the beautification of the Friary and adjoining property, as well as being the unofficial cook for the household; the brothers just love my cooking.
The purpose of this page is to share my journey, as best as I know how, through the word and life that Christ has called us to, as well as to share the creative musings of my heart and soul.
