We are a non-denominational evangelical Bible church - a congregation of believers in
Jesus Christ. Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way and truth and the life.” Like the
early believers in the New Testatment who were first referred to as those “who were of
the Way” (Acts 9:2, NKJV), we are God`s family dedicated to evangelism and
discipleship.
In April, 2008, we moved to our own church building at 1015 N. Ridgewood Drive, just
east of the caution light at County Road 17 in historic downtown Sebring. Service times
are Sunday school for all ages - 9:00 a.m. and worship service - 10:30 a.m.
Come early and stay a little later for refreshments and fellowship. Our new location
includes a house that creates a homey atmosphere for fellowship; while accommodating
the offices of our pastor and secretary along with Sunday school rooms.
Bring the children for Sunday school and children`s church hour. Our new facilities also
include an education building alongside a fenced yard for the children. We are in the
process of developing broader children and teen ministry programs.
The way church began in the home of Pastor Reinhold and Renate Buxbaum on June
18,2006. We immediately outgrew that space; moved to another location for about one
month; and, then, met for one year and seven months at Dee`s Place. We are excited to
have our own church home where ministry can continue to develop and expand.
If you are not a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, we would love to introduce you to Him.
If you are a believer, come and let`s grow together into mature Christians. The Way is a
gathering place for you where Pastor Reinhold creatively presents biblical teaching that
will invigorate your faith and creatively help you apply it to your life.
The worship music consists of contemporary Christian praise and worship songs along
with hymns of the faith presented in fresh ways. The Worship Team is dedicated to
bringing the congregation into the transforming presence of Christ through worshiping
in spirit and in truth.
Several small groups meet in homes or the church home building for Wednesday or
Sunday night Bible and topical studies, fellowship and prayer. Through these small
groups we are better able to care for one another as a family of believers.
From our inception, missions have been our heart at The Way. We presently support two
local ministries - Little Lambs,Inc. and Heartland Christian School; along with a unique
local outreach of The Way, Honeycomb Gift Basket ministry. Foreign missions
encompass a missionary with Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) in Honduras and
another family with CEF/Cadence - working out-of-state with the children of United
States Military personnel while raising support to continue this work in Japan.
The Way loves caring for and encouraging married couples and families in their walk
with the Lord and how that impacts the marriage relationship and their children. Singles
find a sense of belonging to The Way family - embraced through Bible studies, small
groups and social activities.
Progressive dinners, a Christian cruise, pot luck suppers, picnics, special themed
dinners with wholesome entertainment and other activities have been and will continue
to be part of the life of this church family - with an eye toward service projects and shortterm
mission trips.
So, if you are looking for a family atmosphere of Bible teaching, worship music, prayer
and caring “come along to The Way Church” a gathering place for you where love is the
language spoken.
