Biography | Dr. Daniel Bernard received his Ph.D. in the study of religion at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada in 2008 (click here to read the thesis abstract). His specialization was in Judaic Studies, with a focus on ancient and early rabbinic Judaism. Other areas of interest include early Christianity, ancient Mediterranean culture, Islam, American Evangelicalism, LDS (Mormonism), and rhetoric. Dr. Bernard's current research is focusing on the the marginalization of certain forms of Jewish identity within contemporary Jewish communities. Specifically, his interest is in exploring the ways that those Jews who are marginalized incorporate the awareness of their "Other" status into those identities. |
