It's times like these that make me proud to have been born in America. We will have piece (sic) in the Middle East at last, because President Barack Hussein Obama has decided to freeze all new settlements here on the West Bank of the Jordan River. If only we had known in 1929, that nasty pogrom would not have been necessary. Our Arab neighbors don't want to kill us, they just don't want us to live here. If only we'd voluntarily remove ourselves en masse, we'd have piece at last, just like we do in Aza. But they will graciously still make piece with us if we promise to keep our existence to a bare minimum, and refrain from adding to it. They WILL tolerate us!
At least that's the change that President Barack Hussein Obama hopes for. As for me, I have no use for piece. Shalom, which means completeness, is another matter. But it is not in the English dictionary, nor likely to arrive through any piece process presently envisioned. That can come only when we acknowledge our complete G-d-given tie to the Land of Israel as promised to our great, great grandaddy, who is buried nearby, independent of any UN resolutions or declarations. Our neighbors rightly do not respect any claims to nationhood predicated on such a flimsy basis. Instead they see secular Zionism for what it is, an abdication of our Divine heritage. As next of kin, they see themselves as our successors, and will accept nothing less than our entire heritage, from Ako to Eilat. Shalom can only be achieved by reasserting our claim as Bnei Yisrael to Eretz Yisrael, a claim that can not be negotiated or surrendered, and a claim which even the Koran instructs its faithful to respect.
That's my opinion. Now tell me yours. |
