Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies adapted from Martha Stewart "Cookies" 2 1/2 cups flour 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature 1/2 cup sugar 1 cup brown sugar 1 teaspoon salt 2 teaspoons vanilla 2 eggs 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips Preheat oven to 350. Whisk together the flour and baking soda in a mixing bowl. Set aside. In the bowl of a mixer, cream together the butter and sugars. Mix until pale and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Add the salt, eggs and vanilla. Mix until well blended. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Stir in the chocolate chips. Drop heaping tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake cookies for 12 minutes - the center should still be soft. Transfer cookies to a wire rack and them them cool completely. |
