Days are tranquil

And nights balmy

I’m caught in a state of perpetual nostalgia

From dusk till dawn

Are the times changing?

I wonder

A beacon of light

Does lie yonder?

In this dark tunnel of mine

Does silver lining finally shine?

If naught, then what is this

Warm feeling in my heart

Which fills me up

Like air in my bosom

Blood in my veins?

From the precipice of defeat

I have come

The dark foreboding days

That have become

A shadow of my past

Alas, all things in life

Must come to an end

So, I shall rejoice

Free from my predicament

However, I shan't be

So careless

Henceforth

For I realised

The folly of my ways

This peace will not last long

I ponder

For 'tis the sweetest dreams

One wakes from slumber

So, at last

I embrace my past
