STATUARY WARNING: This piece is my feeble attempt at a political satire. Any disrespect is purely intended (laughs)! EVERYBODY HAS SEEN THE MATRIX. I repeat: EVERYBODY HAS SEEN THE MATRIX. Honestly, if you haven't already, then do so ASAP or commit suicide (in a gruesome way) and end your worthless existence on the planet. Jokes apart, I believe one must try to learn from everything around us, be it nature or even an 'escapist' science fiction Hollywood motion picture like "The Matrix" trilogy. For the retards who are blissfully unaware of this movie (for the rest please ignore): "The Matrix" revolves around the epic saga between the last human survivors and the 'machines' which have basically evolved AI and are self aware. The world 'as we know it' has been disintegrated and wasted, devoid of all the natural resources. Then in this wasteland, the android-like humans, machine-made, who enslaved the remainder of the humans. The race of machines live off of human body heat and imprison their minds within an artificial reality known as the Matrix. A few escapes from this machine-made “utopia” and form a resistance aided by the all powerful 'The One'. I for one believe that the current situation of the “Tibetan community-in-exile” is somewhat similar to the people of Zion, the last surviving human 'sanctuary'; rather helpless of their own accord against the superior cybernetic organisms. However, it really amused me when in the movie, the people of Zion were dancing madly in trance (semi-naked I might add) to some really bad music completely oblivious to their impending doom in the form of fearsome cybernetic 'Search & Destroy' exterminators, ie, "the sentinel"; choosing to be saved by their messiah, the all-powerful 'The Chosen One,' aka Neo. Similarly, the Tibetan community-in-exile (myself included) are so wrapped up in our own small lives driven by a perpetual quest for a 'better life' superimposed by materialistic possessions and are blissfully unaware of our own impending doom (signifying the obliteration of our cultural cum religious identity rather than gruesome demise as in the movie); choosing to leave everything to His Holiness, the XIVth Dalai Lama (our version of the “Chosen One”, aka Neo) to resolve the issue.
