Q 1: Will my story appear on this website, or any other websites?
A: Only a few stories, which have been accepted, might appear on
the web but still the writer will receive a payment regardless whether you see
the story on the web pages or not.
Q 2: How do I know that my story has been accepted if it does not appear on the site?
A: In case of fictional stories, if your story has been accepted (even it does not appear on this site), you will receive a cheque/check confirming the acceptance.
Q 3: How do I get paid for my stories?
A: You get paid only when your story/stories get accepted and selected for publication (in the paper edition). We pay literary artists in two modes: ie; through Paypal if you have a valid account there, and if not, we send you a cheque/check on your name to the address you give me with the submission of your story/stories.
Q 4: What about the length of my story?
A: There is no strict rules set for the maximum length of your story as long as it is good enough for publication. If not exceptional, the story will probably be left out if it accedes 6,000 words. Minimum limit is 1,500 words. Stories with words less than 1,500 words are not accepted, or if are, not paid for.
Q 5: In which language can I write?
A: Cuurrently at The Tibetan Voice, we are only accepting those written in the English language since we are trying to reach all Tibetans living world wide.
Q 6: Will I get my copy of the submitted story back in case of rejection?
A: You will only be notified if your piece will be chosen for publication. In case of rejection, you will not be informed in any form, nor you will get the submitted copy back.
Q 7: How do I know the word count of my story?
A: We have mentioned on this website that we prefer to receive your work in the Microsoft Word format. If you are using Word for your writing, you can check the word number of any document by clicking on the "review" button on the "menu bar". You see the "word count" button just below the "set language" button.
Just having 1,500 words in your text may not qualify as being beyond the limit line, do also make sure that your text does not need much reformatting, and heavy deleting.
Q 8: If I submit works other than fiction, say, essays, will my work be accepted?
A: Yes. Currently we are only able to pay for your works in the form of fictional short stories though.
Have a question? Send us an email and we will get to you as soon as we can.
