My Teaching Philosophy is according to TES Philosophy and EPS Engagements www.epsusa.org : Economist for Peace and Security .
I consider teaching to be an honor and privilege that I enjoy and take very seriously. For years I have been a Professor of Economic Systems not only in Mexico and Chile, but overseas as well. Currently I am teaching again in several countries after several MSc & PhD training program studies. I am trying to change the way that Economics is being taught here at my university for students of engineering. This last years I have implemented some of the technological support of software applied to Economy that I had access to when I was a doctorate student at the University of Brno and post doctorate studies ,thank to Dr. Josef Kolar at the Technical University of Prague. http://thesis.workshop.googlepages.com
My primary objective is to have students motivated and fascinated. I accomplish this by creating a positive classroom experience, clearly stating the main points during the lecture, providing students with multimedia resources and being available to students for consultation and questions. Voice inflections, physically moving around the room, telling jokes and interesting stories or FreakEconomics and asking questions are ways I keep students’ attention during class. Modeling an economic system or resolving problems is often a better way to learn than reading the book, reviewing notes, and sitting in class. In addition to lecture materials, I often provide my students with supplemental tools, generally available online particularly in www.theEconomistSystem.com , to enrich their learning experience. When appropriate I create exercises for students to work, and I am currently developing web pages to facilitate communication and to provide supplemental material in my e-books . http://industria.macro.googlepages.com
Preparation, student participation, real world examples and some funny stories are for me the key to any well-delivered lecture. Previewing the discussion, creating interesting illustrations, and working out numeric examples prior to class are key components to delivering an interesting and clear lecture. Having a positive attitude and being enthusiastic adds passion to the journey of learning making a wealth in his own economic models and systems. http://simulacion.macro.googlepages.com
I am attaching in my web page teaching evaluations from my courses and thesis at the University of Brno , Tec.Monterrey , Prague , New York , UNAM , IPN , UTEM and other Universities and technological institutes , particularly LUND University and ITZ Morelos México.
