Are your Rigs Ready for Winter?
Have your winterized your Motor home or camper yet? Winter is fast approaching. You don’t want any frozen pipes. Some members even winterized their rigs before leaving the final campout at Green Meadow recently. Up on Thorn Mountain top we already had 3½ inches one day recently. Mt. Washington is all white, too, so you know winter is close behind. We hate to see those rigs in Hibernation, but now we can plan ahead to camping 2010. It will be here before you know it! In the meantime enjoy those winter sports~~~ unless you are a snowbird headed for warmer climate

Blueberry Pond Campground Yarmouth Maine Clam Festival Hosts: Botsfords & Bakers & Thayers
Our Annual camping trip to the Yarmouth Clam Festival will be the weekend of July 15-19, 2010. We will again be camping at Blueberry Pond; however, this year we are keeping it small and the first 15 to register will be accepted. Reservations need to be received to the campground owners as soon as possible so they can plan. Green Meadow Camping Weekend
The Final Camping Weekend of the 2009 season was held the weekend of October 15-18th at the Green Meadow Campground. Hosts for the weekend were Reggie and Rose Illsley and Bill and Judy Botsford. The theme was Thanksgiving. Our dining canopy was enclosed with tarps and we were heated by industrial heaters from Dave Bonneau and Jim Bradt which kept us comfy and warm
in the cold temperatures. Attending were Roger and Carol Roberts; Jim and Betsy Bradt; Rita Carignan;
John and Jean Baker; Dick and Linda Spoffard; Lee and Ronnie Spoffard; Dave and Janice Bonneau; Greg and Kathy Thayer, Deanna Botsford and on Friday evening we had a visit from John and Phyllis Barnes. Friday night there was a delicious pot luck supper; Saturday morning Bill fried bacon and then made French toast; In the morning the girls pealed and prepared potatoes, squash, yams and Rose baked her famous
home made rolls. Janice roasted one turkey in her electric roasting pan and Greg carved the bird.
Jack and Reggie deep fried and carved the second turkey. Patricia Caron baked delicious stuffing in
her motor home. There was a large selection of Festive holiday pies for dessert.
Tables were set with candles and Thanksgiving decorations and the dinner was served buffet style.
Friday and Saturday nights were spent sitting around the campfire keeping warm and lots of conversation. Rigs were decorated and the Roberts had really nice Halloween decorations, but the rig with the most votes
was done by Doug and Patricia Caron. Even dog, Holly, got into the act on the dash. Sunday morning
breakfast was hot oatmeal and Cream of Wheat, sticky buns, English muffins etc and then the process
of tearing down the dining area began and with lots of hands it went quickly and then everyone began
packing up and some even winterized their rigs before they left the campground. Thanks go to the
Illsley Family for having us at Green Meadow for a wonderful weekend. This was the “Last Hurrah” for the 2009 camping season.
