Most parked at the DeLorme map lot and took the shuttle into town. The wethare cooperated, as it was a sunny day.

THursday evening we has a United States Flag burning ceremony with everyone participating.  The Saturday evening activity esd the "Blessing of the Rigs" led by Chaplain, Janice Murray.  Sunday offered a trivia game involving NH and Maine.  Saturday morning we had a formal flag raising ceremony with Reggie Illsley, John Baker, Robert Roberts and Bil Botsford serving as the flag bearers.  Sunday afternoon we were delighted to listen to Dennis LaPerle on the accordian.

The chapter business meeting was held Saturday morning.  A Certificate of Appreciation was awarded to capground owner, Bill Hooper.  A 50/50 raffle was held.  The $35 proceeds were won by Dave Bonneau with the chapter's half being returned to the treasury to defray costs.

During the weekend many games of cribbage were played as well as board joker, goofy golf, bocci, hosreshoes,  and a golf card game.  The bocci games were held into the evening forcing the layers to move under the lights provided by the Caron's rig.

Many thanks go out to our hosts for planning the weekend, shopping, preparing food and parking the rigs as they arrived.  Many thanks to all our our chefs including the campground owner for coking our lobsters.  Thanks to the Roberts and Croteaus for picking up the lobsters.  Despite rain predictions it only rained during the night Friday into Saturday morning.  For all of the Saco River Rambler members who could not attend you missed a wonderful time.  At the business meeting it was decided that the chapter wil return to Blueberry Pond in 2010 for the Annual Clam Festival.

A Note From Your President

Bill and are care camping most of the summer, being home only long enough for Bill to work Monday and Thursday afternoons.  We are home one weekend to do some house projects and are then camping into late October.  On our two week vacation we had only 4 sunny days resulting in many games of Joker Board.  One of those rainy days we had three daughters visit with our grandsons.  We thoroughly enjoyed this as we had not seen them since Christmas! Desptie the rain, we had fun!

Bill and I had a super weekend at Blueberry Pond, but by the time we got home we were both exhausted.  I had the chore of unpacking while Bill had to go to work.  We were very grateful that Rose and Reggie Illsley convoyed with us on the trip home.  We are looking forward to the Samborees and hope you will join us for fellowship and fun!
