Please take the time to read the following information carefully and feel free to ask if there is anything that is not clear or if you would like more information. Please take time to decide whether or not you wish to take part in this study. I am a psychology student studying at the University West of England, conducting a study for my final year project into the predictors of stress. I have decided to study this topic as I would like to contribute to the understandings of stress and coping and hopefully contributing enough so this can be applied to the treatments of stress. In this study you will be asked to complete four questionnaires on coping, self efficacy (the belief that one has in them for of achieving and or maintaining goals), stress and personality. Examples of the questions you can expect from these questionnaires are as follows: In the last month, how often have you felt nervous or stressed? Can you always manage to solve difficult problems if you try hard enough; how accurate is this statement? And In the last month, how often have you felt confident about your ability to handle your personal problems? All questions are closed questions. The questionnaires should take no longer than 30 minutes to complete. This study should not cause you any stress or harm however it is a sensitive subject, if you do find it too difficult to complete or feel at all uncomfortable you are welcome to shut the browser. You will not be identified in the results of this study as all results are anonymous. The results will only be used for my final year project; if you wish to see the results they will be available in May, to obtain a copy feel free to get in touch with me via email on charlotte.rice@live.uwe.ac.uk. If you have any further queries or problems please feel free to get in touch with me or my supervisor. Thank you for taking part.
