Our next trustees meeting is in May 2012 at which we will discuss grants for the year 2012/2013. The deadline for applications for this meeting was 30 April 2012, so we are no longer accepting applications at this stage. Once we have considered the applications already received we will know whether we have any remaining capacity for the current financial year and will post that information on this page. The Progress Foundation has been set up to provide grants to charities or for other charitable purposes. We are able to make new grants of approximately £60,000 per annum; together with ongoing grants to existing grantees, this means we grant about £150,000 - £180,000 per annum. As a result, we have to make many hard choices. In order to focus our work, the trustees have decided to give grants only to:
Our general preference is to fund independent voluntary organisations and not to replace or subsidise statutory funding. In addition, we will not make grants to organisations which promote a particular religious belief but will consider applications from faith-based organisations where the work is not for religious purposes and clearly fits our funding guidelines. We also like to encourage new ways of doing things and have supported new charities, new projects and new ways of working. We will normally only support large and established charities where they apply for new or innovative projects. If your organisation fits these criteria and you would like to make an application, the form can be found below.
