Seniors


Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship
Applicant must be a US Citizen.
Applicants will be judged based on financial need, leadership and scholarship.
Applicant need not be related to a member of the Elks.
Deadline: Received by November 2nd 2009.



Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE)
“Freedom in Academia” student essay contest.  Applicants must write an essay explaining why free speech and First Amendment rights are crucial to higer education and how abuses of these rights harm the college experience.

Deadline: Submit your entry by November 6th 2009.



Good Tidings Foundation Community Service Scholarship
Applicant must reside in the Greater Bay Area.
Applicant must be actively involved in community service.  An essay explaining your service, how many people were affected by your work, why community service is important to you and what you have gained or learned from this experience, and what you will do in the future, is required as part of the application.
Deadline: Postmarked by November 10th 2009.



Metro PCS Community Scholars Program
Applicant must be planning to attend an accredited two or four year college or university next fall.
Minimum GPA 3.0.
Apply online at www.metropcs.com/scholarship or pick up an application form in the career center.
Deadline: Submit online or mail by November 25th 2009.



U.S. Hispanic Youth and Colgate-Palmolive Company
Applicant must Hispanic.
Submit a short essay of 500 words or less on the following topic:
“How do you think education can impact the Heritage of Hispanic generations to come?”
Deadline: Applications are being accepted through November 30th 2009 at www.colgate.com/hazlau.



Boston University Trustee Scholarship Competition

Applicant must be applying to Boston University.
All application and nomination materials are available online at www.bu.edu/admissions/trustee.
Deadline: Nominations, essays and applications must be submitted by December 1st 2009.




Gates Millennium Scholars Program
Applicants must be African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American.
Must be a citizen or legal permanent resident or national of the United States.
Minimum unweighted GPA 3.3.
Must be enrolling at a U.S. accredited college or university as full-time degree-seeking first year student in Fall 2010.
Applicant must meet the Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria.
Deadline: Submit online at www.gmsp.org by January 11th 2010 by 11:59pm EST. or the paper application postmarked on or before January 11th 2010.



California Association of Collectors Educational Scholarship Foundation

Applicant must be planning to attend an accredited public, private college, university or trade school next fall.  Must be enrolled full time.
Essay subject is “Importance of Establishing and Maintaining Good Credit During your College Years”.  Entries must be typed, 12 pt. font, double spaced and be a minimum of 700 words and a maximum of 1,000 words.
Each entry must include the completed application and the essay.
Deadline: Postmarked by February 1st 2010.



Mahatma Rice/Univision Radio Scholarship Program

Students must submit an essay of 150 to 250 words on the following topic:
“What will my college degree say about me?”

U.S. Bank Internet Scholarship Program

Design a poster highlighting job safety and health for teens.  The poster may be in any media (pen & ink, collage, paint, print, photography, etc.).
It can be up to 17” X 22” and in any language(s).

Applicant must have been actively involved in a volunteer activity in the last 12 months that has had a significant, positive impact on race relations - broadly defined - in his or her school or community.
