Step 3 - Invite "viewers" or collaborators" to your Google Site Photo Wiki

A.  Go to the Google Site you created.  Remember if you ever get lost, just go to Google, login in the upper right, then click "My Account" then click  "Google Sites".  You should then see a list with our course site as well as any other sites you have created or sites you have been invited to.

B. Click on the Site you created. When in your site, click on the drop down menu at the top left that says "Site settings" and choose "Share this site"

C.  At the Sharing page click on the radio button next to viewer or collaborators and put in the email addresses of the folks you'd like to share your site with.

D.  Click the "Invite these people" button and then the SEND button to send an invitation.

4.  Add Photos to your Google Site Photo Wiki

A.  Go to your Google Site Home Page.

B. Click the "Edit Page" button at the top left of the screen.

C. To make a two column layout (if you want) click the "Layout" drop down menu at the top of the page and choose "Two-column".  It will look like this screen shot:

D. Now you have a two-column page.  In the right column insert a  photo you have taken.  To insert the photograph:
    •  Make sure you have the image saved on your hard drive or know the image's URL if you have put it in Picasa or another photo web site.  To get the URL (if the image is not on your hard dive), right click on the image and "copy image location" or right click and choose "properties" and copy the image's URL from there. It depends on the browser you are using as to what it will say.
    • Put your cursor in the right column of your Google Site page and click and HOLD DOWN the drop down "Insert" menu at the top of the page.  Slide your mouse so you choose "Image"
    • Then choose either the radio button "Uploaded images" or "Web address (URL)" See screen shot below for what you'll see.
    • If you chose "Uploaded images", click the browse button to bring in your image from your hard drive.  If you chose the "Web address (URL)", paste in the Web address or URL that you copied.
    • When the image comes in to the box, click "add image".  You should now see the image on your Google Sites page in the right column.
    • As the image comes in you'll have some choices that look like the following screen shot:

If the image is too large (and you don't want it to be), click the "L" for large, the "M" for medium or the "S" for small. Each time you click you'll see what your size change looks like. When in edit mode on a page you can always click the edge of the image and get this menu again.  Often times images that are brought in from your hard drive off your camera will be too large so you won't want to use "Original".  Choose a smaller size so they'll fit on a variety of screens.
    • Now click the "Save" button at the top of your page.
Hit the Edit Page button again and in the left column of your page, write a welcome message and tell us something about what your Google Site Photo Wiki is about or for.
