4. "Google Map" those photos

What we'll do - create your own photo map to share.

Step 2 - Create a Google "My Map"


A. Go to Google Maps (http://maps.google.com/) and login with your Google Account
B. Click on "My Maps" and then click on "create new map".  Give your Map a title (in the left menu), mark it unlisted.

C.  Now find a location on your map and drag a Placemark and add a picture to a Placemark by follow these numbered in red steps that are aligned with the numbers on the screen shot below

1. Click on the "My Maps" link to start a new map or see any maps you have created.

2. You can also view the Map in Satellite view or in Map View (or Terrain view)

3. Click the edit button (when you click the edit button it will turn into a "done" and "save" button).

4. In the search box at the top, type in the location of the photograph you'll be adding to the map and click the "Search maps" button.

5. Click and drag the blue Placemark icon to pinpoint the location on the map of your photograph.  You can click the zoom in slider for a closer view to adjust the Placemark.

6. Within the Placemark, click on "Rich text" to get the tools needed to add formatted text or photos to the Placemark.

7. To add your photo to the Placemark, go to your photo on the web (you can only add photos to Google Maps if they are ALREADY online) and, right click or ctrl click directly on the image and from the pop-up menu choose "Copy Image Location" or "Copy Shortcut" or "Copy Image URL" or "Copy Image Address" (depending on which browser you are using). Once the image address is copied, return to your "My Map" Placemark, click Rich Text and then select the picture icon. In the pop up box that appears, paste the copied photo URL into the address box and click "OK". 

8. Then click OK on the Placemark.

9. Then click the "Save" button if it hasn't automatically saved

10. When you are finished click "done". 

11. You should see your Placemark in the left menu bar.


Step 3 - Share a Google "My Map"

Click on the collaborate link in the left menu, a pop-up box (like the screen shot below) will provide a spot to invite collaborators by email address.
